Practiced saying 'I don't know, here's how I'd find out' instead of guessing and it went over way better than expected
#confidence#interview-prep#technical-interview
Used to bluff my way through anything I wasn't sure of in interviews, half-confident answers that usually unraveled under one follow-up question. Started doing the opposite — flat out saying I didn't know, then walking through where I'd look or who I'd ask. Had an interviewer last week say that was the most useful answer of the round, because it's basically what the job actually looks like. Still feels counterintuitive every single time I do it.

AnonymousAnon Started doing this a few months ago after bombing an interview where I clearly guessed wrong on a system I didn't know. Wish someone had told me sooner that "I'd check the docs / ask the team" is an actual acceptable answer.
