Asked to push my start date two weeks so I could hand off my old job properly and they said yes without pushback

Was sure asking would read as low commitment before I'd even started. Said I wanted to leave my current team in a good place rather than a two-week scramble, framed it as being the kind of person who finishes things. HR came back same day, no negotiation needed, just "sure, see you the 15th instead." Wish someone had told me this was a normal ask before I spent a weekend rehearsing how to justify it.
