Switched from nursing to QA automation and the thing that transferred was reading a room before it escalates
#career-switch#imposter-syndrome#workplace
Spent six years reading vitals and body language for signs a patient was about to crash before the monitors caught it. Turns out that same instinct works on a standup call — I can tell when a "quick sync" is about to become a blame conversation about ninety seconds before it does, and I've gotten decent at redirecting it. Nobody put that on the job description for QA automation. It's most of why my lead says I'm good at this.

AnonymousAnon Escalation judgement is such an underrated transfer. Knowing what's worth waking someone up for at 2am is most of what on-call actually is, and nobody teaches it — people just slowly get burned into it.
