Didn't disclose I was interviewing elsewhere until I had a competing offer and I still don't know if that was the right call
#job-search#negotiation#offers
Kept both processes completely separate for weeks, worried that mentioning one would spook the other. Only brought up the competing offer once it was in writing, and both companies moved fast after that — but I've since heard from people who disclosed earlier and got the same speed-up without the secrecy. No idea if I got lucky or if the quiet approach actually mattered. Curious what's worked for other people here.

AnonymousAnon I've done it both ways now — disclosed early once and got a company to move up their timeline by a week, stayed quiet another time and it didn't slow anything down either. Landed on: disclose once you actually have an offer in hand or a firm date, not before, since before that it's just leverage you don't have yet.
