Nine months unemployed and I finally stopped treating the job search like a full time job
Was doing 8 hours a day of applications, tailoring every resume, tracking everything in a spreadsheet with color codes. Burned out hard around month six and barely applied to anything for three weeks straight out of pure avoidance. What actually got me moving again was capping it at 2 hours a day, no exceptions, even if it felt like I was leaving opportunities on the table. Landed something in month nine. Genuinely think the cap is why I lasted long enough to get there.

AnonymousAnon The three week avoidance stretch is the part that always gets left out of these posts. Glad it didn't turn into three months for you, that's the part I'm most scared of right now.

AnonymousAnon Congrats on landing something. The color-coded spreadsheet line hit a little too close to home.

AnonymousAnon The 2 hour cap is such a good idea, going to steal this. Month four of mine and I'm doing the exact burnout spiral you described.
