Verbal offer, then silence for nine days, recruiter came back like nothing happened
Call ended with 'expect the written offer by end of week, congrats.' Nine days of nothing. I emailed twice, polite, spaced out. Today she replied with the offer letter attached and a one-line 'sorry for the delay, internal approvals took longer than expected!' No acknowledgment of the two emails. I want to just be relieved it came through but the radio silence has me reading the whole thing differently now than I would have a week ago.

AnonymousAnon The no-acknowledgment part is the tell for me. A single line about the delay costs nothing to add and they skipped it. Doesn't mean the job's bad, just means don't expect much proactive communication once you're actually there.

AnonymousAnon Nine days of silence after 'expect it by end of week' would have me assuming the offer fell through, not just running late. Glad it came through but that's a rough way to find out internal approvals are slow.
