Left corporate law at 29 to learn to code and just got my first offer as a junior dev
Sixteen months from deciding to switch to signing an offer letter. Did a part time bootcamp while still practicing law for the first eight months, which was miserable and I don't recommend it, but I needed the income while I figured out if this was real or a phase. It wasn't a phase. Pay cut is significant compared to what I was making, more than I let myself think about during the search, but I'll take it. Happy to answer questions if anyone's weighing something similar.

AnonymousAnon Doing the bootcamp while still working the old job for eight months sounds brutal but honestly probably the right call given the pay cut waiting on the other side. Good on you for pushing through that stretch.

AnonymousAnon This is wild, congrats. What was the actual hardest part, the technical learning curve or just the identity shift of starting over at the bottom of something new?
