Two offers, close enough in total comp that the number stopped being the deciding factor — how did you actually pick?
Both landed within about 4% of each other once I ran the full math, benefits and all. One's a bigger name with a longer commute and a manager I only got twenty minutes with. The other is smaller, fully remote, and the hiring manager spent almost an hour walking me through what the first six months actually look like.
I keep making pro/con lists and they keep coming out even, which I think means the list isn't the right tool here.
Genuinely asking — for the people who've been in this spot, what ended up being the actual tiebreaker once the spreadsheet stopped helping?

AnonymousAnon No magic answer but for me it ended up being who I pictured actually asking for help at 4pm on a bad day. The remote one with the manager who gave you a real hour sounds like it's already telling you something the spreadsheet can't.
