Started keeping one document with my actual behavioral stories instead of rebuilding them for every interview
Used to write out a fresh STAR answer the night before every interview depending on what I guessed they'd ask, which meant I was reinventing the same six stories over and over and inevitably forgetting the good details under pressure.
Now I keep one running doc: eight stories, each with the actual situation, what I did, and a real number or outcome attached. Before an interview I just skim it and mentally tag two or three that fit the role.
Doesn't make the delivery perfect but I stopped losing details I'd nailed once and then completely blanked on three interviews later. Wish I'd built this in my first month of searching instead of my fourth.

AnonymousAnon I built something similar but organized by competency instead of by story, so I can see at a glance if I'm missing one for "disagreed with a decision" or whatever. Either way the core idea of not reinventing this every single time is the real unlock.
