My first code review at the new job had eleven comments on a five-line change and I nearly logged off

Small change, added a feature flag check, figured it would be a rubber stamp. Came back with eleven comments — naming conventions I didn't know existed, a suggestion to extract a constant, a question about a test case I hadn't considered. Sat there for a solid ten minutes convinced they regretted hiring me. Mentioned it to a teammate at lunch and she laughed and said her first PR here had over twenty comments and it's basically a rite of passage on this team, not a judgment. Reworked it, resubmitted, got approved with one more small note. Still felt awful in the moment but apparently that's just how the team reviews everything, mine included nothing.
