IDE lagged for ninety seconds in the middle of a live coding round and the interviewer's face told me everything
Was mid-explanation of an approach, typed a line, and the shared editor just froze. Ninety seconds of both of us staring at a spinning cursor while I tried to keep talking through my plan with nothing to point at. It came back eventually, we picked up where we left off, and the interviewer was clearly used to it and unbothered. I was rattled for a solid five minutes after and it definitely affected the next part of the round. Wish I'd just said "let's pause and wait it out" instead of trying to narrate into a frozen screen like it was normal.

AnonymousAnon Had almost the same thing happen except it was my own wifi that dropped. What worked for me was immediately saying out loud "okay let's give this a second" instead of trying to fill the silence, it reset the energy in the room way better than narrating into nothing.
