Recruiter said "we'll be in touch either way" and then genuinely followed up even after a no, which apparently isn't normal

Got rejected after the final round, expected the usual silence or a copy-paste email at best. Instead the recruiter called, walked through actual feedback from the panel, and said she'd keep my resume for a different team that was opening up in a quarter. Mentioned this to a few people and apparently that level of follow-through is rare enough that everyone had a story about the opposite. Not expecting anything to come of the "we'll keep in touch," but it's the first rejection that didn't feel like yelling into a void, so noting it here as a "this is possible" data point.
