I kept a job tab open for four days because I only matched 60% of the list
#career-switch#imposter-syndrome#job-search
I had the job posting open in a tab for four days before I applied. Counted it up and I matched maybe 6 out of 10 bullet points, tops. No CS degree, two years as a QA tester, nothing close to their "distributed systems experience" line. My partner literally had to say "just hit submit, worst case is a no" before I did it. Got a recruiter screen a week later. Turns out the requirements list was more of a wishlist than a checklist. Still don't know if I'll get past round two, but I stopped assuming rejection before anyone even read my resume.

AnonymousAnon 60% match is honestly still worth applying to most of the time, the listings are wishlists not requirements.
