Four months in, I sat in my car and almost quit software for good
#burnout#job-search#rejection
Around month four I sat in my car after a rejection email that just said "not moving forward at this time" and thought, maybe I'm just not built for this. I'd sent something like 140 applications and gotten four screens. What snapped me out of it was dumb, honestly — my old roommate texted asking if I could help him debug a script, nothing serious, twenty minutes tops. I did it without thinking, felt normal again for the first time in weeks. Didn't fix the search. Just reminded me I actually like doing this, even when nobody's paying me to.

AnonymousAnon Four months is exactly the point where the initial motivation runs out and it just becomes a grind. Hope it's gotten better since.
