quit with nothing lined up, here's what the first month actually looked like
I quit in March with zero offers, just a savings buffer and a feeling I couldn't ignore anymore. Week one felt like vacation. Week two I woke up at 4am doing math on my rent. My mom asked "so what's the plan" and all I had was "I'm applying." I applied to maybe eight jobs that whole month, nowhere near the fifty I'd promised myself I would. What actually moved things was one coffee chat with an old coworker who forwarded my resume internally. Took eleven weeks total to land something. I'd still do it again, but I underestimated how loud the doubt gets at 4am.

AnonymousAnon I quit last June with no backup plan either. What got me moving was way dumber than a strategy — I set a timer to apply to exactly three jobs before letting myself have coffee each morning, and just didn't stop until it became a habit.
