six weeks of silence, then changing the file name got me three interviews
Six weeks, zero callbacks, so I started changing one thing at a time instead of rewriting the whole resume every Sunday out of panic. Swapping "responsible for" bullets for actual numbers did basically nothing on its own. What moved things was renaming the file from "resume_final_v3.pdf" to just my name, and cutting the objective paragraph entirely. Two recruiters mentioned the file name unprompted, one literally said "yours was easy to find in my downloads." Font, template, adding a skills matrix, none of that seemed to matter. Still not sure if it's the ATS parsing weird filenames or just recruiter laziness, but three interviews in the two weeks after beats zero in six.

AnonymousAnon Honestly this reads more like timing to me than the filename — three interviews in two weeks after six dry ones just screams market cycle. Still renamed mine from Untitled_document.pdf to my actual name that same night, cost nothing so why not.
