Had an offer at 142k and almost pushed for 150. Instead I asked if I could log off by 3:10 most days for school pickup and make it up after my kid's in bed. Recruiter went quiet for a second, then said "honestly that's easier for us than more comp." Still not sure if I left money on the table. But three months in, nobody's blinked when I duck out, and I haven't had to explain myself once. If you're weighing this, ask the question early, before you sign anything, not after.
