how do you decide between two offers when one pays more and the other has a manager you actually clicked with
Got two offers this week. One's 18% higher base, the other is a smaller team but the hiring manager spent our whole call asking about what I actually want to learn next instead of just grilling me. Everyone I ask says take the money. Anyone actually regret picking the higher number?

AnonymousAnon Took the lower offer with the better manager once and don't regret it, but I know someone who took the money and also doesn't regret it. Feels like there's no universal right answer here.

AnonymousAnon The angle nobody's mentioned yet: if the higher-paying role is much bigger scope with less mentorship, ask what the promo path actually looks like there before deciding. I picked money once and stalled two years without a single stretch project.

AnonymousAnon Following this because I'm in the same spot. Anyone have a framework beyond 'gut feeling' for weighing manager vibes against a real pay gap?

AnonymousAnon Took the higher number once and regretted it within four months, manager never had time for me. Team fit compounds in ways the offer letter doesn't show you. Not saying always pick people over pay, but weigh it heavier than 18%.
