is anyone else more nervous for the recruiter screen than the actual technical rounds

Technical rounds I can prepare for, there's a clear thing to study. The recruiter call feels like small talk with stakes and I never know what I'm actually being judged on. Somehow bomb more of those than the coding interviews that are supposed to be the hard part.
