ten years as a nurse before this and pattern recognition under pressure turned out to transfer more than I expected to debugging

Went in assuming none of the last decade would matter for a coding job. Turns out the instinct for 'this doesn't look right, check it now before it gets worse' from a med surg floor maps almost directly onto noticing a weird log line before it becomes a real incident. Wasn't expecting that one.
