manager offered a title bump with no raise attached, still deciding if that's worth anything at all

Told me the title change would 'set me up' for the raise at the next cycle, six months out. Not mad exactly, just trying to figure out if a nicer title on LinkedIn is worth anything on its own or if I should push back and ask why it can't happen together.

AnonymousAnon Had almost the exact same offer a year ago, took the title, raise never came until I brought up leaving. Not saying that'll happen to you, just worth knowing it can.

AnonymousAnon I'd push back gently and ask for it in writing that the raise is tied to the new title at the next cycle. Titles without money are easy for a company to walk back later.
