spent nine years as a professional chef before this and reading a kitchen during service turned out to be the same skill as reading a standup

Both jobs are mostly about knowing who's underwater before they say it out loud. Nobody warned me the instinct would transfer, I assumed I was starting completely from zero. Still can't read a for loop as fast as a ticket rail though.
