star method felt completely robotic in practice until I stopped labeling the parts out loud in my head while talking
#behavioral#communication#interview-prep
Kept mentally narrating 'okay now this is the task, now the action' mid answer which made everything sound stiff and rehearsed. Once I just told the story like I would to a coworker at lunch and let the structure happen underneath instead of announcing it, the answers actually sounded like a person again.

AnonymousAnon I practice this by recording myself and only listening back, no video, and it's brutal how obvious the narrating sounds once you can't see yourself talking.

AnonymousAnon The narrating-in-your-head thing is so real, I do the exact same thing and it makes every answer sound like a book report. Going to try just telling it like a story next time.
