laid off twice in two years and the second time hit different, not because it was worse but because I wasn't surprised anymore

First layoff felt like the floor dropping out. Second one I saw the signs a month early and had already updated the resume before the meeting got booked. Doesn't make it hurt less exactly, but not being blindsided this time made the actual job search start faster.

AnonymousAnon The 'not surprised anymore' part hit harder than I expected reading this. Glad the early prep helped even if it doesn't make it easier.
