company added an AI usage disclosure to the take-home and I froze about how much help is too much help
Used to just quietly google syntax and not think twice about it. Now there's a checkbox asking what AI tools I used and for how long, and I spent longer deciding how honest to be than actually writing the code. Ended up disclosing everything including the parts where I just used autocomplete, no idea if that was the right call.

AnonymousAnon Wonder if this becomes a non-issue in a year or two once disclosure is just the norm everywhere and nobody has to individually decide how transparent to be. Right now it just feels like early adopter tax.

AnonymousAnon This is becoming its own skill almost, calibrating disclosure. My rule of thumb ended up being if I'd be embarrassed for them to see exactly how I used it, don't use it that way.

AnonymousAnon Honestly respect that you disclosed the autocomplete stuff too. I've seen people leave off the boring parts and only list the big generation because it feels less risky, which kind of defeats the point of asking.
