Recruiter said the feedback was consistently positive across all four rounds and then the decision came back no anyway, no specifics given beyond 'went with someone whose background matched more closely.' Logically I know panels compare candidates against each other, not some absolute bar, but it still doesn't fully add up emotionally.

AnonymousAnon Asked for specifics after a similar rejection and got the exact same vague line. Started assuming 'positive feedback, no offer' just means good candidate, wrong pool, and trying not to read more into it than that.

AnonymousAnon Been on the other side of a hiring loop and this genuinely happens, sometimes it really is just relative ranking against whoever else was in the pool that week and has nothing to do with your actual rounds. Doesn't make it sting less though.
