avoided dynamic programming for two years of interview prep and just started actually doing the problems this month

Every study plan I made had a DP section that I'd skip past and tell myself I'd come back to later once the other topics felt solid. Finally forced ten problems in a row this week, badly, and something about seeing the recurrence relation fail on paper a few times made it click faster than any explanation video did. Wish I hadn't burned two years being scared of it.
