went quiet for the entire architecture discussion in a design review and nobody noticed until I said so out loud
#communication#imposter-syndrome
Sat through forty minutes convinced everyone else understood the tradeoffs being thrown around and I was the only one nodding without following. Finally asked a clarifying question I was sure was too basic and two senior people said they'd been wondering the same thing. Nothing bad happened. Wish that fear had less of a grip on me than it does.

AnonymousAnon The fact that two senior people had the same question you did is the part that should stick with you, not the twenty minutes of silence beforehand.

AnonymousAnon This happens to me constantly. Trying to remember that the question probably isn't as basic as it feels in my head.

AnonymousAnon The senior folks nodding along not understanding either is basically universal, nobody just admits it in the room. Glad you asked.
