Used to apply to anything relevant regardless of whether a range was posted. This cycle I only went for listings with an actual number attached, no more finding out four interviews in that the ceiling was way below what I needed. Applied to fewer roles overall but wasted a lot less time, and the negotiation conversations felt less like guessing games too.
