used to guess at unclear requirements on take home challenges instead of just asking and it was costing me more than I realized
#communication#job-search
Always assumed asking a clarifying question mid challenge would look like I couldn't handle ambiguity. Finally emailed one recruiter about an underspecified edge case instead of guessing, got a fast clear answer, and turned in something that actually matched what they wanted. Wish I'd stopped assuming silence was part of the test.

AnonymousAnon This is such an underrated move, I used to think asking made me look less capable too. Recruiters have been uniformly fine with it every time I've actually tried.
