practiced my salary negotiation script out loud with a friend before the actual call and it made a real difference

Wrote out roughly what I wanted to say for the negotiation call and then made a friend sit through a fake version of it twice. Felt silly doing it, but having the numbers and reasoning already in my mouth meant I didn't freeze when the recruiter pushed back once. Actually got most of what I asked for.
