waited until after accepting the offer to bring up salary because I was scared of losing it and regret the timing

Had a number in mind but didn't want to risk the offer getting pulled, so I said yes first and tried to negotiate after. They were polite about it but the room to move was basically gone by then. Next time I'm asking before signing anything, even if it feels riskier in the moment.
