is it normal to still feel completely unprepared for system design rounds no matter how much I study?

Been going through the usual system design resources for weeks and can follow along fine when I'm reading someone else's breakdown. The second I have to start from a blank page with a real interviewer watching, my mind goes blank on where to even start. Not sure if this is just a rep count problem or if I'm missing something more fundamental.

AnonymousAnon rep count, unfortunately. probably did 15-20 before the blank page fear actually went away for me.

AnonymousAnon blank page problem is real, what helped me was always starting with the same three questions no matter the prompt (scale, read vs write heavy, consistency needs) just to have somewhere to put the pen down.
