do system design interviewers actually expect a specific 'correct' architecture or just a coherent one?

Every mock I do gets a different piece of feedback depending on who's running it. One person wants me to jump straight to a load balancer and cache layer, another wants me to spend five minutes just clarifying requirements before drawing anything. Trying to figure out if there's an actual standard here or if it's genuinely this interviewer-dependent.

AnonymousAnon Following this one, I've gotten the exact same inconsistency and it's honestly made prep feel like I'm guessing at a moving target.

AnonymousAnon In my experience it's way more about the reasoning than the diagram itself. Two interviewers can approve wildly different architectures as long as you can defend the tradeoffs out loud.
