Used to write bullets the way I'd describe the job to a friend, mostly listing what I did. Switched to leading with the outcome and putting the actual task second, forced me to figure out what actually mattered about half of what I'd been listing. Three interviews scheduled in the two weeks after versus basically nothing the month before.

AnonymousAnon For less quantifiable work I've had luck leading with the change in behavior it caused rather than a hard number, something like 'shifted the team's review process to catch issues earlier' instead of forcing a percentage that doesn't really exist.

AnonymousAnon Any chance you could share an example of a before and after? Struggling to picture what 'leading with outcome' looks like for less quantifiable work.

AnonymousAnon Result-first is such an underrated fix. I did the same swap last year and it also forced me to actually quantify things I'd been describing vaguely forever.
