Recruiter made it pretty clear base was basically fixed for the level, but mentioned the signing bonus had more room almost as an aside. Asked for more there instead and got about sixty percent of what I asked for, which still felt like a win. Small thing but I wouldn't have thought to try it if she hadn't mentioned it first.
