the unemployment gap on my resume is four months now and I still don't know how to phrase it without over explaining

Every draft either sounds too vague, like I'm hiding something, or way too detailed about a family thing that's honestly nobody's business. Landed on one flat sentence for now and let the interview conversation fill in whatever they actually ask. Curious if recruiters actually care as much as I've been assuming.

AnonymousAnon In my experience recruiters care way less than we assume, it's mostly us being anxious about a story only we're replaying.

AnonymousAnon One flat sentence is honestly the right call, over-explaining in writing just gives people more surface area to interpret badly.
