Went from managing a retail team to a junior developer role at twenty-nine and expected the technical stuff to be the hard part. The actual adjustment was standups and status updates, nobody in retail ever asked me to narrate my day in fifteen minute increments to five other people. Getting more comfortable with it, but the first month felt like learning a second job on top of the one I was hired for.

AnonymousAnon The standup adjustment was real for me coming from a service job too, nobody warned me how much of the day is just talking about the work instead of doing it.
