quantified every bullet on my new-grad resume even when the number was embarrassingly small and it still worked
#first-job#resume
Felt silly writing 'reduced test suite runtime by 4 seconds' because 4 seconds sounds tiny. Left it in anyway since it was true and specific. A recruiter later told me small-but-real numbers read as more credible than vague ones on an entry-level resume, because everyone can tell when a new grad is stretching a number that's actually huge.

AnonymousAnon Agree on specificity mattering, though I'd be careful going too small. 4 seconds works if the context around it makes clear why it mattered, otherwise it can read as scraping for a number.
