Kept reaching for a dramatic story that didn't actually reflect how I handle disagreement day to day. Switched to a tiny, almost boring disagreement about a code review comment and it landed better because it was specific and true instead of impressive and vague.

AnonymousAnon also helps to end the conflict story on what changed about how you work now, not just how it got resolved. interviewers seem to care more about the after than the resolution itself.

AnonymousAnon this matches what a recruiter once told me, the 'impressive' conflict stories always sound rehearsed because they are. the boring specific one is harder to fake so it reads as more honest.
