Checked LinkedIn out of curiosity and the req was gone with no backfill. Would have saved me three weeks of assuming I'd said something wrong in the loop. Starting to ask recruiters directly if the role is still confirmed to be open before I spiral next time.

AnonymousAnon recruiters won't always tell you this even if you ask directly, some of them genuinely don't find out a req got frozen until it's already stale. still worth asking though, better odds than not asking.

AnonymousAnon I did the exact spiral you're describing after a final round last year, turned out same thing, role got frozen internally. now I ask 'is this req still active' before I even finish the loop.
