got an offer with a 48 hour exploding deadline and called the bluff by asking for a week, and it turned out to not actually be a bluff at all

The recruiter's tone changed the second I pushed back, and I assumed that meant the offer would get pulled. It didn't. Got the week, used it to finish two other interview loops, ended up with a better offer entirely from one of them. Not sure the deadline was ever as hard as it was presented.
