a join can multiply rows before aggregation
Anonymous
A join can produce multiple rows for one key when the other table has several matches. Before aggregating, check whether that side is unique on the join key; if not, pre-aggregate it to one row per key when that matches the intended result. Otherwise, counts and sums can be too large.
